What’s the purpose of this rat-race? 

We are working 50, 60,70 and even 80 hours per week. For what? Salary? Career? Recognition? Probably all mentioned. What are we left with at the end of it?

Having scrutinized myself I can honestly say that I am working hard because it gives me an inner sense of purpose. I do not do it for the money. I do not do it because I am obliged to. I do it because  I want to! I do it because I feel intellectually stimulated and challenged. Earning good money is not unimportant, but it is secondary, for me at least, compared to the self-satisfaction of having the feeling of doing something good…. Something good to the community  and to people around you. I compete in the rat-race because I want to… Not because I have to! I want to prove to myself how far I can go… I want to prove to my loved ones that I can provide a life of abundance for them.

Having lived in many different countries I would like to promote the values of India! (where I spent 3 years) I have not met any people who are more family oriented than the Indians… I truly appreciate this approach! Family should come first. Because if you don’t have your family around you, then who do you have? It does not matter how successful you are, if you are lonely, does it?

Know why and what you are sacrificing in order to be a part of the rat-race… Don’t let it be your family! I will personally dedicate more of my time to my family, because they matter the most!
