Hey all,

I was just thinking about success, as you do too from time to time, I am sure… I have been working 25 years in various Leadership roles across the world. And according to me there are two things you need to master more than anything else in order to be successful:

Leadership – You must excel in your leadership role! I mean excel to the point where no one would ever doubt why they should be following you. A leadership approach where both your brain and heart are felt in the organization. Your leadership should be your priority daily…! You must learn to lead yourself before you can truly lead others. Work on yourself and your leadership constantly!

Speed – Being fast is crucial in everything you do in life (there’s one exception and I leave that, without further explanations, to your imagination) . Take fast decisions. Complete your tasks in a speedy manner. Delegate quickly and expect quick response. Speed will make you excel. Speed will make you deliver. Speed will make others look up to you. Speed will push others around you to also work faster. Speed is energy and energy is vital in business! (I’m not promoting recklessness – commons sense must always prevail my friends, the balance is in your hands). There are certain things you need to contemplate – contemplate those speedily! Too many people are too cautious… Too many people think too much or need too much ‘data’ before they feel comfortable taking a decision. I’ll give you an example: I have never ever acted too fast with people decisions…. On the contrary, I kinda always feel I should have acted sooner. My philosophy: trust your gut! If you get 80-90% (of course the aim is 100% but that’s not realistic even though that should always be your aim) of the decisions right, that’s enough, if you make an abundance of decisions daily. For this to work for you, you need to believe in yourself with an unwavering certainty, I do.
